Technology of Online Learning is constatntly changing. In the past static learning material such as text, notes discussion form limited actual interactivty to occur in real time. Improvements in technologies along with desire to allow greater interaction and more student control and interaction in order to allow collaboration to occur in real time has enhanced learning environment for students. The advancement of technologies provided opportunites for students to be able to take greater control of their learning.
I thinks the technologies used in your concept make are identified correctly. Why, because your dynamic components provide experience of interacting with content on our computer screens. While your static technologies use pictures for communicating spatially information and items;Use text-only rather than audio-only; Use text for communicating verbal information and they Use text for communicating information to be retained over longer periods of time. I think this is a good concept map.
ReplyDeleteI truly agree with you that our ever-advancing technologies have provided opportunities for today’s students to take control of their learning. This is in accordance with the constructivists learning theory where students build their own knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThe way that the new technologies support collaboration adheres to the connectivists learning theory. Students engage in social interactions using digital tools. With the ways in which technology is playing such vital roles in supporting two very significant learning theories, we have to applaud its overall contribution to education.
I'm curious to see what the future of education will look like with the constant changing nature of technology. I agree with you that, thanks to technology, students will be empowered to take control of their learning. In order to accomplish this, I think educators will have to change their mindset of what education will look like.
